Field Characters: Huat tia is small tree 1- 2 m high, with red fruits when ripe. 

Locality: Dong na tat forest preserve, Km 19, Kaisone phomvihan district, Savannakhet Province.

Habitat: Broadleaved evergreen lowland tropical rainforest, with some degree of past conversion. Forest opening. GPS reading: 16o 39.313’ N; 104o 51.947’ E. 

Altitude: 160 m asl.
