Healers

Lao Traditional Medicine

The use of traditional medicine is a vital component of health care in Laos. This research attempts to document this venerable heritage.

Healers who have shared their knowledge for this project have come from many different ethnic groups throughout the country, from the limestone peaks in northern Laos to the Bolaven Plateau in southern Laos.

This project could not have been completed without the knowledge and generosity of the healers from the communities in which we worked. With their consent, we want to acknowledge them below and thank them for the time they spent with us and the knowledge they chose to share. We want to respect their privacy, so only those who have agreed to be recognized here are listed below.

Many incredible healers have been involved with this research. If you are one of these healers and you would like to be featured here, please contact us.
