Field Characters: Tree 15-20 m tall, dbh 25 cm, bark gray-brown, coarsely fissured, slash light brown, wood white, young fruit solitary on the leaf axil, stamens epipetalous, stipules needle-shaped; prop roots present.

Locality: Oudomxay, Muang Xay District, Donxay Village, Medicinal Biodiversity Preserve, about 3 km south of the city. GPS reading: At the vicinity of 20o 40.0181’ N; 102o 00.155’ E.

Habitat: Forested slope in a broadleaved, mixed evergreen lowland tropical rainforest on a mountain slope.

Altitude: 850-900 m asl.
