Field Characters: Herb, large elliptical leaves sheathing, stem triangular, fruits small, brown, scaly, in compact clusters, peduncles arising from apical leaves which immediately subtend the infructescences.
Locality: Bolikhamxai Province, Bolikhan District, Somsavath Medicinal Plant Preserve, off road near Ban Kampay and Ban Somsavath.

Habitat: Roadside. Good quality, secondary tropical rainforest, lowland.
Altitude: 163 m asl.
