Field Characters: Tree 17 m tall, dbh 40 cm, bark gray, fissured and cracked, slash light brown. Flower buds green, open flowers deep yellow, crimson-orange at the bulbous base.

Locality: Champassak Province, Pathumphon District, Phou Kouthuan, east of Ban Boun.

Habitat: Overlogged forest with an open canopy of 10-20 m.

Altitude:  150 m asl.
